An Impossible Marriage

An Impossible Marriage

Classic coming-of-age tale “An Impossible Marriage” first published in 1954 and set during the wars, about a young woman whose marriage to an older man forces her to mature too rapidly.

While enjoying her carefree adolescence in southwest London, Christine is most concerned about two things:(1) being envious of her brilliant best friend Iris Allbright and(2) not wanting her manager to find out if she is tardy for lunch. However, Chris’s life changes drastically when the enigmatic and somewhat older Ned Skelton unexpectedly sweeps her off her feet.

Christine gives her secretary job up for marriage, and she and Ned begin a life together, but soon Christine realizes that this charming man might not be who she thought he was.
